Ask an Ambassador

Dear New Families,

Welcome to Singapore American School! I’d like to invite you to join our “Ask an Ambassador WhatsApp Group”, exclusively offered to SAS families that are newly enrolled in the 2025-26 academic year in the second semester. The purpose of this group is to offer easy access to any SAS-related questions in your first months here. If you have a question, it is likely that someone else who is new to SAS is wondering the same thing. We hope that this group provides you with just-in-time answers to your questions.

In addition to handbooks, newsletters, websites, and more, we also have our fantastic community ambassadors who are excited to get to know you and help you navigate the school.

You may join the “Ask an Ambassador” WhatsApp group relevant to your child’s school division by clicking on the appropriate links below. The groups have been divided into Early Learning Center and Elementary School, and Middle and High School. If you have children in different divisions please join both the relevant groups. The groups will become active and go live on the first day of school.

We encourage you to visit our resource page for new families. MySAS Portal is your go-to resource for forms, information, calendars, placing meal orders for lunch, and other details. You can access MySAS Portal via the directions here. You can also join our official grade-level WhatsApp chats here. Please note that some of the services are available to new families only on the day your child starts school.

Once again, I’d like to welcome you to the SAS family and hope to meet you soon! In the meantime, I’ll look for you in our new “Ask an Ambassador” WhatsApp groups. I invite you to learn more about our ambassadors and the purpose of these groups below.

Our hope is to give you the tools you need to become increasingly independent and resourceful as you settle in.
When possible, the ambassadors will share where you can find a similar answer in the future.
Only the ambassadors should provide answers to questions on this group. This is intended to be a place for you to ask questions, but please do not answer questions on the group chat for other people. There are many nuanced situations where your answer may be true for you, but not be accurate for someone else. Our ambassadors will have many resources to help parents with responses and to specify their responses to different groups.
Please keep all questions specific to SAS.
Remember that this is a place to ask questions that are intended to ease the transition and to help yourself and others. If you have feedback to share, you may do so through this schoolwide feedback form.
Please use our community norms to guide your interactions in these groups, and any others that you participate in at SAS. We will do our best to always provide quick and accurate feedback, and ask for grace in this process.
We would be grateful if only one family member per household joins the groups.
