G. Raymond Zage III

Chairman


Mr. George Raymond Zage III serves as Chief Executive Officer at Tiga Investments Pte Ltd. He graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance. Mr. Zage joined the SAS Foundation board (Singapore) in 2012 and assumed the role of chairman in 2014. Mr. Zage and his wife, Kaori, have two children at SAS.

Dr. Clarice Chia Woodworth

Vice Chair


Dr. Clarice Chia Woodworth is the medical director for International Medical Clinic, Singapore. Dr. Chia Woodworth graduated with a diploma in practical dermatology from the University of Wales, College of Medicine, Cardiff, United Kingdom. She also graduated from National University of Singapore, School of Medicine, with a bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery, M.B.B.S. She joined the SAS Foundation board (Singapore) in 2014. Dr. Chia Woodworth and her husband, Dr. Adrian Woodworth, have one child that graduated from SAS in 2019.

Brian O'Connor

Treasurer


Mr. Brian O’Connor is a founding partner of Falcon House Partners, a Southeast Asia venture capital and private equity firm based in Singapore. Prior to that, he served as a senior executive and managing director for Lehman Brothers in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Jakarta. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with bachelor degrees in Asian Studies and Economics. Mr. O’Connor joined the SAS Foundation Board (Singapore) in 2014. Mr. O’Connor and his wife, Nancy Menayang, have two children at SAS.

Peng Huat Ang

Dr. Peng Huat Ang is managing director at Temasek. He graduated from National University of Singapore with a bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical) and earned a doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University. Dr. Ang joined the SAS Foundation board (Singapore) in 2014. Dr. Ang and his wife, Swat, have a child that graduated from SAS in 2016.

Georgina Bach

Ms. Georgina Bach holds a bachelor of arts degree in public health from University of California, Berkeley. After college, she spent many years working in marketing and investor relations for startups in the internet and biotechnology sectors. She has been actively involved with service in her children’s schools for the past ten years, and was PTA president of their school in Las Vegas, prior to relocating to Singapore. In addition to her involvement at SAS, she served on the operational committee for Caring for Cambodia as the coordinator of school service trips. Ms. Bach joined the SAS Foundation board (Singapore) in 2016. Ms. Bach and her husband, Jeremy Bach, have three children at SAS.

Eck Meng Goh

Mr. Eck Meng Goh is chairman at Stratos Capital. He holds a bachelor of econometrics from Monash University and a master of business administration (MBA) from The Anderson School of Management (UCLA). Mr. Goh joined the SAS Foundation (Singapore) in 2017. Mr. Goh has one child at SAS.

Maria Luedeke

Ms. Maria Luedeke is director, counselor, and psychotherapist at Aspire Counselling Pte Ltd, a private mental health provider for adults and adolescents. She holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Maryland at College Park and a masters in guidance and counseling from James Cook University, Singapore. Ms. Luedeke joined the SAS Foundation (Singapore) in 2017. Ms. Luedeke and her husband, Scott, have two children at SAS.

Alana Triscott

Ms. Alana Triscott is an Australian qualified lawyer with over 15 years of experience working in the Asia Pacific region. Ms. Alana Truscott is currently Senior Legal Counsel, at Turner Broadcasting Sales Southeast Asia, Inc. where she works across the region supporting the content sales, marketing, and production aspects of the business. Ms. Triscott joined the SAS Foundation (Singapore) in 2017. Ms. Triscott has three children that attend SAS.

Chrissy Luo

Ms. Chrissy Luo is co-founder and vice chairwoman of Shanda Group which she created with her husband and brother-in-law in 1999. She is also co-founder of the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute which was established in 2016 to advance her family’s philanthropic goal of supporting fundamental brain science. Ms. Luo graduated with a degree in investment from the China Finance Institution (now part of the University of International Business and Economics). Ms. Luo joined the SAS Foundation (SG) in 2016. 

Astrid Salim-Taira

Ms. Astrid Salim-Taira is the executive director of KMP Pte Ltd (Singapore). She is an SAS alumna who graduated in 1996. She graduated with a bachelor of arts in business from University of Colorado. Ms. Salim-Taira joined the SAS Foundation board (Singapore) in 2014. Ms. Salim-Taira and her husband, Kenji Taira, have one child at SAS.

Catherine Poyen-Zemans

A graduate of Mount Allison University (BA 1988) and Dalhousie University (JD 1991), Ms. Poyen-Zemans practiced civil and criminal litigation from 1993–97 at McCarthy Tetrault, Toronto before moving to Singapore in 1997 when she joined the Corporate Finance practice group at Shearman and Sterling LLP. Between 1997 and 2001, Ms. Poyen-Zemans represented corporations and investment banks in a variety of debt and equity offerings and asset securitizations in Indonesia, India, Australia, Singapore and New Zealand. Between 2001 and 2008, Ms. Poyen-Zemans worked on an adjunct basis at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore teaching in the Legal Skills Programme. During her tenure, Catherine participated in a comprehensive review and revamping of the program curriculum.

Ms. Poyen-Zemans served on the SAS Board of Governors from 2008–18, including service as Chair 2013–16; Vice Chair 2012–13; Chair, Superintendent Search Committee 2011-2012; Chair, Governance Committee 2010–11; Board of Governors representative to the PTA 2008–12 and on each of the Committees of the Board. Ms. Poyen-Zemans continues to serve on the school’s Investment Advisory Committee. Ms. Poyen-Zemansand her husband David Zemans two children were educated at SAS for 10 and 13 years, respectively.

Laura Entwistle

School Board Representative

Laura Entwistle is the founder and CEO of EmancipAction, a non-profit organization which seeks to end the commercial sexual exploitation of children in the developing world through its strategic work with best-in-class non-governmental organizations and forward thinking governments.

Ms. Entwistle has extensive experience living and working in Asia, having spent more than a decade advising clients in Hong Kong, China, and India. After receiving an MBA from the Harvard Business School, Ms. Entwistle gained professional experience in the corporate sector with the Boston Consulting Group in New York and Hong Kong. Together, these equipped her with the tools for her work on the social issues that she cares deeply about: education and social justice. During her five years living in Mumbai, Ms. Entwistle served as President of the Board of Trustees at the American School of Bombay and founded the Mumbai Chapter of Room to Read.Laura currently lives in Singapore along with her husband, Brooks, and their three daughters, two who attend SAS and a third who graduated in 2019. Ms. Entwistle has been serving on the SAS Board since September 2015.

Alan Miyasaki

Alan Miyasaki is a Senior Managing Director in the Real Estate Group and the Head of Real Estate Asia Acquisitions. Mr. Miyasaki is based in Singapore and is responsible for the day‐to‐day management of the Real Estate group’s investment activities in Asia.

Since joining Blackstone in 2001, Mr. Miyasaki has been involved in a variety of real estate transactions in both the United States and Asia. Since 2007, Mr. Miyasaki has played a key role in building Blackstone’s Real Estate business in Asia including executing investments in Greater China, India, Singapore, Japan and Australia.

Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Miyasaki was with Starwood Capital Group, where he worked in acquisitions. Mr. Miyasaki received a BS in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated cum laude. He currently serves on the board of  K Raheja Corp Investment Managers LLP (manager of the Mindspace

Business Parks REIT) and 151 Property Group.Mr Miyasaki and wife Christine have three children at SAS.  Alan joined the SAS Foundation in 2019.

Varun Pathria

Mr. Varun Pathria is a Managing Director of ThirdEye Capital, LLC, a private equity firm focused on corporate turnaround, real estate, and early stage investment.  Formerly a senior executive at Colony Capital and a corporate lawyer, Varun has spent two decades in the private equity sector. Varun is married to Maria Pathria, who currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Senior Counsel of Capital International, Inc.  They currently have two children as SAS. Varun joined the board in December 2019.

Rudolph Muller

Chairman


Mr. Rudolph Muller is the principal of Mulan Consulting & Investments. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Le Moyne College and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. After serving on the SAS school board for five years, he joined the SAS Foundation (SG) board and upon his return to the United States in 2015, he joined the US Foundation board as chairman. Mr. Muller and his wife, Andrea, have two children who graduated from SAS.

Nicholas Haslett

Vice Chair


Mr. Nicholas Haslett is senior managing director—chief strategy officer and head of business development at Castleton Commodities International. He holds a bachelor’s degree in quantitative economics from Tufts University. Mr. Haslett is an SAS alumnus from the class of 2003. Mr. Haslett joined the SAS Foundation (US) board in 2015.

Mendy Crews

Ms. Mendy Crews holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Richmond and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mendy taught for ten years in St. Louis County, Missouri. She is an SAS alumna from the class of 1996 and joined the SAS Foundation (US) Board in September 2017.

Shelley DeFord

Ms. Shelley DeFord is director and treasurer of Vernare Learning, a charter school in Saint Louis, Missouri. After serving on the school board, she joined the SAS Foundation (US) board in 2010. Ms. DeFord and her husband, Philip DeFord, have two children who graduated from SAS.

Martyn Goossen

Mr. Martyn Goossen is vice chairman at JPMorgan Chase & Co. He holds a bachelor of science, economics/engineering, from Union College and a master of business administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School. Mr. Goossen joined the SAS Foundation (US) board in 2016. Mr. Goossen and his wife, Kathy, have two children who graduated from SAS.

Anish Jain

Mr. Anish Jain is currently CEO at TSS, an integrated oilfield logistics company sourcing and moving proppant in the US oilfield. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and quantitative economics and a master’s degree in engineering, both from Tufts University. He earned a master of business administration (MBA) from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Jain is an SAS alumnus from the class of 2002. Mr. Jain joined the SAS Foundation (US) board in 2016.

Dr. Chip Kimball

Dr. Chip Kimball served as the superintendent of Singapore American School from 2012-2019. Dr. Kimball joined SAS after sixteen years in the Lake Washington school district (WA) where he served as chief technology officer, assistant superintendent, and deputy superintendent before becoming superintendent in 2007. Dr. Kimball holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Whitworth University, a master’s degree in science education from Eastern Washington University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from University of Southern California. Dr. Kimball joined the SAS Foundation (US) board in 2012.

Dr. Brent Mutsch

Dr. Brent Mutsch was the superintendent of SAS from 2007 to 2012 and of the American School of Dubai from 2012 to 2017, at which time he returned to Colorado after 23 years working as a superintendent in international education. He holds a bachelor of arts, with a history major and a social studies teaching major, from St. Olaf College and a master of arts, in secondary counselor education from the University of Iowa. He earned his doctor of education in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Mutsch joined the SAS foundation (US) board in 2008.
