Over 45 Years of Once-In-A-Lifetime Opportunities

Our alumni repeatedly tell us that their Interim Semester trips were some of their most meaningful experiences at SAS. Interim Semester has been an integral part of an SAS education for over 45 years.

With over 1,200 students, faculty, and staff traveling around the world to perform community service, go on eco-adventure trips, and engage in global studies, it is not only a significant undertaking to plan and organize these meaningful experiences, but it is a challenge for us to keep costs as low as possible while providing the necessary supervision, logistical, and medical support to ensure a safe and rewarding experience.

Why Give to the Interim Scholarship Fund?

More families than ever before—54 percent of our families—pay tuition and fees with no support from their employers, which is a significant change from many years ago. Because we would like all of our students to share in the same opportunities, we are now offering Interim scholarships. Every year approximately seven to eleven students who demonstrate need each receive a S$3,000 scholarship, which goes a long way to defraying costs since the average cost of Interim trips is S$2,915. We would like to increase this number in future years as the demand far exceeds the supply of aid available.

Because Interim is an integral part of the SAS experience and our families are experiencing a change in the financial landscape in Singapore, we invite you to support students by contributing to this scholarship fund. A contribution in any amount—whether it be $50 or a few thousand dollars—will have a significant impact on our students.

A powerful adventure

Testimonial

Overall, my Interim Semester trip to South Africa gave me a powerful adventure which I will remember for the rest of my life. The biggest takeaway from my trip, aside from the beautiful photos, would be to take more risks. From eating a cooked caterpillar to flipping upside down on a zipline, the most memorable moments from the trip came from the times that I stepped out of my comfort zone.
