With over 4,000 students and 800 educators on campus daily, we know that drop-off and pick-up times result in significant traffic entering and exiting campus. That is especially true in our first few days of school, when arrival traffic in the mornings is extremely congested (please do not drive if you do not have to!), and buses take a little longer to depart in the afternoon as students get used to where they are going.
Each morning, we expect 105 buses and around 500 cars to drop off students on campus. Please note the times below when private cars/taxis, buses, and pedestrians/bikers are allowed onto campus. We encourage you to plan for increased traffic during these peak times and use the guide below to help plan your arrival/departure.
Traffic at SAS builds up from 7:20 a.m. onwards, and the final 200 meters to the school can sometimes take 10-15 minutes. During that time, school buses always have priority in entering the school gates. To help save you time, we encourage you to drop your child(ren) off at one of the locations outlined below just outside campus if they are old enough to walk in on their own.
Morning Drop-off
-
Buses enter campus at 7:15 a.m.
-
All cars (taxis, Grab, family vehicles, etc.) may enter campus in the morning, noting again that buses will have priority over cars when entering campus
-
To avoid conflict with buses and cars, pedestrians may not enter through the main gate between 7:25 a.m-8:00 a.m. Pedestrians, bike riders, etc. may enter campus through the East/Woodgrove Walk entrance (elementary school entrance) and the middle school gate.
-
You must have an SASCard in order to enter East/Woodgrove Walk entrance (elementary school entrance) and the middle school gate. Please have your ID ready to tab at the card access.
Drivers
Please note that no drivers will be permitted to turn right into campus between 7:10 a.m. - 8:05 a.m. in order to help maximize traffic management during this time.
Please take 2 minutes to watch the morning arrival traffic and road safety advisory
Woodgrove Avenue (for elementary school entrance): When dropping off students at the elementary school / Woodgrove Walk entrance, we strongly urge you to pull into Ashwood Grove or Beechwood Grove and find a legal spot that does not block traffic, where children can exit without risk. Parents and drivers are asked to refrain from parking, waiting, dropping off, picking up, or overtaking along Woodgrove Avenue, given the high volume of traffic on that street.
Multi-Storey Car Park, Block 426A (for middle school / high school / ELC entrance): When dropping off students at this area, please avoid waiting on the main driveway so as not to block traffic. There is ample drop-off space inside the covered car park or along the side roads. This is a good drop-off point for our middle school and high school students, and is the closest access point to our early learning center (ELC). Your cooperation will help a great deal in reducing annoyance to our neighbors.
Walkers/riders/drop-off
Please note that pedestrians and bike / scooter riders are not allowed to use the main gate entrance from 7:25 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. daily and must use the other gates at this time.
Campus riding guidelines
Our campus riding guidelines for bikers and scooter riders include the following:

-
Every day and at all times, no riding is allowed in school corridors and lobbies or on footpaths, playgrounds, and fields.
Afternoon Pickup
-
Buses depart SAS at 3:20 p.m.
-
Private cars (taxis, Grab, family vehicles, etc.) may enter campus at 3:20 p.m.
