Sam lo, art
Sam Lo/ ‘SKL0’ is a trans visual artist based in Singapore with humble beginnings as a street artist. Dubbed the "Sticker Lady"- a nickname given by the city in reference to the saga that was birthed from their guerrilla work in the streets in 2012, Sam responds to the environment from which the work is created. Careful consideration is given to the context, setting, history and sensibilities of the subject matter in order to properly communicate and express its essence. This sensitivity and method of storytelling proves to be the artist’s strength, with the same sensibilities applied across different mediums from large scale murals to detailed illustrations to delicately hand-sculpted sculptures. Coupled with the artist’s signature style of vibrant colours and complex compositions, Sam’s pieces strive to illustrate the fabric of our society through art.
Sam has showcased their work in galleries and on large-scale murals both locally and internationally—from exhibiting the interactive sculpture Progress: The Game of Leaders at Art Central Hong Kong, Singapore Art Week, and the Melbourne Festival, to creating murals at street art festivals such as Lodhi Art Colony in New Delhi and Colour Way of Love in Shanghai. Their murals can also be found in cities around the world, including Amsterdam, London, Penang, Melbourne, Jakarta, New Delhi, and Los Angeles, to name a few. Their practice has further led to commissions from the Singapore Tourism Board, The Peranakan Museum, Singapore Art Museum, as well as global brands including Nike, Mercedes, and Riot Games. Beyond their visual art practice, Sam has taken on key leadership roles in the arts, serving as Art Director for CHINGAY (2023–2026), Festival Director of the PAssionArts Festival 2025, and Art Director of the milestone SG60 National Day Parade 2025.

Art Workshop
Mixed media wall hangings
In this art workshop, students will explore traditional kites from our host countries, studying their cultural significance, patterns, and forms. Students will reimagine the kites as wall hangings—transforming a traditionally flying object into a sculptural piece of art.
This workshop offers a fresh take on kite design, encouraging students to use their 2-D art skills such as drawing, painting, and collage, while also incorporating 3-D elements. The hope is that students will gain a deeper understanding of form, function, and creativity.

Art Workshop
Peranakan Tiles Workshop
Students will investigate the vibrant Peranakan heritage of Singapore by focusing on its iconic, recognizable tiles. They'll closely examine the beautiful motifs littering the city and then design their own motif or replicate a traditional one on a ceramic tile. Students will learn the technique of slip trailing to render their design using clay slip. The finished tiles will be bisque fired here, ready for glazing and completion back at their respective schools.

ART Workshop
Turfting Workshop
In this exciting collaborative workshop hosted by Tuft Club, students will dive into the world of textile art by designing and creating their own rug/wall hanging. Working in their school groups, students will combine creativity, teamwork, and hands-on skills. Guided by Tuft Club’s expert artists, students will be introduced to the tufting process and explore the possibilities of yarn, texture, and color.
