LITTLE LEAGUE PROGRAM
Singapore American School is proud to host Little League recreational baseball for season three. T-ball (ages 4-6), 8U (coach pitch), 10U & 12U programs are open to all children from beginners to advanced. The program starts in Season 3 and concludes mid-to-late May depending upon age group. Teams will be coached by parent volunteers under the guidance of our Eagle Club Baseball professional coaches. Little League rules and age cut-off will apply.
During the start of the program, all contacts are training sessions. This will allow players the opportunity to develop their skills, better understand the game and be evaluated. Each player will then be assigned to a team. This is not a tryout process. The goal is to create teams that are equally balanced in each age group to keep games competitive. Players will be notified of team placement via email and how to access the game schedule prior to games starting.
For more specific program information, such as, age group cut-off, schedules, practice lengths and game lengths, please click on the Little League tab above.

Coach Clarence
Clarence Brown is a seasoned baseball professional with a profound passion for the game, a dedication he has carried from his playing days into his coaching career. Since 2017, he has been coaching at the Singapore American School, serving as the Head Coach of the 14U team before being appointed Head of Baseball in 2024.
Clarence’s distinguished seven-year professional career in Europe’s Bundesliga spanned from 2011 to 2017. He began his professional journey as a two-way player, serving as an outfielder, pitching, and assistant coach in 2011. From 2012 to 2017, he seamlessly transitioned into a player-coach role, serving as Head Coach while continuing his on-field performance. As a player, he was an all-star outfielder. In multiple seasons he led the league in home runs and stolen bases. On the mound, his dominance was equally evident, as he led the league in both strikeouts and ERA in 2011.
His talent was forged during his college and high school years. As the ace of his college staff, he led his conference in wins, strikeouts, and innings pitched for two consecutive years. In high school, he was a member of a state championship team and continues to hold the school’s record for the lowest ERA.
While leading the Eagle Club 14U team to multiple championship appearances and wins, he looks to lead the entire baseball and softball program the same way: The Eagle Way.
Beyond the field, Coach Clarence is committed to giving back to the communities that have shaped his journey. Every summer, he returns to Germany to volunteer-coach and run practices and clinics. He also goes back to his hometown in America to help with the local baseball scene, paying it forward to his grassroots beginnings.
Reflecting on his journey, Clarence is grateful for the opportunity to give back to a sport that has given him so much. He believes in developing his players not just as athletes, but as well-rounded individuals, instilling in them valuable lessons in discipline, resilience, teamwork, and respect for the game. He is committed to helping his players compete, grow, and enjoy every step of their baseball journey as part of the SAS community.

He also has masteral units in Special Education, reinforcing his inclusive approach to coaching. A licensed teacher in the Philippines, he passed the national board exam in 2009 and began his career in education as a classroom teacher and a multi-sports coach in a private school.
A multi-sport athlete from Grade 3 through college, Coach Alvin has competed in various sports, most notably baseball, swimming and basketball. This rich athletic background laid the foundation for his coaching philosophy—one that blends technical skill development, teamwork, and the joy of play.

He regularly volunteers his holiday breaks to teach and run sports programs in underprivileged areas in the Philippines and actively mentors young coaches. This passion for service stems from the influence of his own mentor, Coach Oscar Marcelino, who instilled in him the value of using sports to uplift and empower others.
Coach Alvin also continues to pursue professional growth through coaching clinics, advanced studies, and continuous learning. His drive to improve is matched only by his desire to make a lasting difference in the lives of his players—on and off the field

Coach Iggy
Hi, I’m Iggy Escaño, and I’m proud to serve as the 14U Head Coach for Eagle Club Baseball at Singapore American School.
Baseball has been my greatest passion for as long as I can remember. I’ve been fortunate to play the game at the highest levels and now feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to give back by coaching the next generation of athletes.
I played collegiate baseball at De La Salle University (DLSU) in the Philippines, where I made history as the only player in school history to win three UAAP baseball championships—in Seasons 78, 81, and 85. I also had the honor of being a member of the Philippine National Baseball Team for seven years (2017–2023), representing the country in international tournaments such as the 2019 Southeast Asian Games (where we won gold), the Asian Baseball Championships, the East Asian Baseball Cup, and the 2023 Asian Games.
Off the field, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Data Science from DLSU. That background has helped shape how I approach coaching—with structure, attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for both the physical and mental sides of the game.
Before joining SAS, I coached both middle school and high school baseball teams at International School Manila (ISM) for three years. My goal as a coach has always been to build strong fundamentals, foster team culture, and create an environment where athletes can grow—both on and off the field.
Baseball has given me so much in life, and I’m committed to paying it forward. I want my players to develop not only as athletes but as people—learning discipline, resilience, teamwork, and love for the game along the way.
I’m excited to be part of the SAS community and to help our players compete, grow, and enjoy every step of their baseball journey.
