A Vivaan 5 for 22 and quick-fire opening knock of 32 (35) from Aarav steer ECC U14s (4/106) to 6 wicket win over a CricKingdom U14 XI (10/105) at Singapore Indian Association in an absorbing T20 contest.

Led by inspirational captain Priyam (ninth grade), a talented team of Eagles ranging from grades four through nine took to the field for their first game against a representative XI from CricKingdom Academy. In difficult and damp conditions, the Eagles played a spirited brand of cricket that proved too much for the opposing team. Strong contributions came from across the team while in the field, including fourth grade student Samay (2 for 6 runs), eighth grader Rishabh (1 for 18), and backing up his batting heroics eighth grade Aarav (2 for 6). Aman was notable for his safe and at times courageous work behind the stumps.

Chasing 105, the Eagles passed the total with 6 wickets to spare, with most of the damage being done by openers Aarav’s 32 runs (35) and Aadit’s 12 (40).

Cheered on by enthusiastic parents, and under the expert guidance and coaching by Jason de la Pena from our SAS cricket vendor ‘3Cricket’, the Eagles created an excellent opening chapter to the Eagles Cricket Club. They played with great spirit and fairness. They played cricket the ‘Eagle Way’.

The Eagles' next game features our U19 vs AIS on November 29. For enquiries on how to join the Eagles Cricket Club’s U10, 12, 14 and 19 squads, contact Ben Summerton at bsummerton@sas.edu.sg.
