High School Learning Support Services

At Singapore American School, we recognize that learning encompasses not only academics, but social and emotional development. As such, we are purposeful in providing the necessary tools to equip teens for the challenges they will encounter as they transition to adulthood. To this end, the mission of the learning support department is to provide support services to high school students who have identified academic, social, and emotional needs.

The extent of services we offer in the high school primarily focuses on accommodations, learning strategies, and social supports. It is important to note that in the high school we do not offer curriculum modification (i.e. a student identified with significant learning needs that requires a different curriculum than same age/grade peers). Students with learning needs are assigned a case manager who is responsible for coordinating communication between the student, family, and respective teachers.

The extent of learning support offered includes inclusion and learning support courses.
