Personal and Academic Counseling

The SAS Personal and Academic Counseling Department is staffed with five full time counselors and a Dean of Student Life who has responsibility for a smaller number of students. All high school counselors provide guidance and support to students and families about issues including study habits, friendships and healthy relationships. We also support high school students through periods of stress and anxiety, and other mental health concerns.

Journey of Self Discovery

My high school experience at SAS has been nothing short of amazing. SAS takes you on a journey of self-discovery by teaching you life skills that you learn to apply to everything you do. Through the Catalyst and independent study program, I was able to pursue my passion of nutrition, athletics, and education through writing a cookbook, working with the SAS nutrition team, and shadowing teachers in different classes. These four years have taught me that as long as I am surrounded by people who support me, want to make a difference, and have a passion, I can do anything I set my mind to.
