Dear Parents,

I hope you are all well!

Earlier this week, we had our final campus leaders’ meeting with our PTA and Booster Club executive boards. I have greatly appreciated the input, ideas, and questions raised by our PTA and Booster Club board members during these regular meetings. They have helped us understand parent sentiment on key issues and brought a valuable parent perspective to our discussions.

Outside of these meetings, our PTA and Boosters contribute in countless ways to our school. They inspire school spirit though activities like Friday Night Lights and the International Fair. They welcome new families and help them in their transitions. They help coordinate dialogue between our school leaders and parents through regular coffees. They celebrate our students through events like the scholars’ luncheon. And they celebrate our faculty through the fun and recognition of staff appreciation day. Click here for a great video of how our PTA said “thank you” this year to our middle school teachers. Their work has strengthened our community and has brought joy to our students and faculty.

Many, many parents participate in these activities, and I appreciate the work each of them does. I especially want to recognize and thank four PTA and Booster leaders who are stepping down  from leadership roles this year. Our current PTA President, Mina Bregman, has served tirelessly in this role for the last three and a half years and has been an active PTA volunteer for more than eight years. In addition, I want to thank Ann Chow, who is completing her time as PTA Secretary, and Christy Bullock and Paula Miller who are stepping down from the Booster Board. We are excited to welcome Britt Garrison as the new PTA President and welcome back Cathy Cho as the Booster Club President.

The PTA and the Booster Club have opened their online stores, and if you are looking for great SAS gear to grab before moving or as a gift for a graduating senior, check out their shops linked below.

It was fun to see so many community members contribute to our “Stand By Me” tribute video. I enjoyed seeing your smiling faces, hearing your voices, and feeling your warmth. Stay well!

Best,
