Dear Parents,

Yesterday, many members of our community celebrated the American holiday of Thanksgiving. In a year full of so many challenges, we have much to be thankful for.

As we celebrate our 65th anniversary as a school, I am grateful for the educators, students, and community members who established a legacy of excellence, extraordinary care, and possibilities at SAS that we continue to build on. To honor those who paved the way for us, we have created this short video to celebrate our 65th anniversary. In it, you will learn more about our rich history and hear directly from several of our influential educators who contributed along the way.

Our legacy of teaching and learning continues today, and I am grateful for the many educators who create meaningful learning opportunities for our students each day in their classrooms. The last two years have been challenging. Our educators have been flexible to the ongoing changes needed to ensure the health and safety of our community. I appreciate their creativity, thoughtfulness, and desire to prioritize the needs of our students, and I think all of us are excited about being able to resume activities in groups of five.

We held our SAS Annual General Meeting virtually earlier this week, and students from each division shared several highlights from their SAS experience that are captured on the recording. As I listened to their stories, I felt a deep sense of gratitude knowing that we as a school are impacting thousands of students like them each day. If you have a few minutes, please feel free to watch.

I hope you had a great day off yesterday and enjoy a restful weekend.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Best,

Tom Boasberg
Superintendent
