EAGLES SOAR AT NATIONAL HISTORY DAY NATIONAL FINALS 2021
by Matt Elms

We are excited to share that the Singapore American School middle school team had an outstanding National History Day (NHD) competition this year! Every year half a million sixth through twelfth grade students, across all 50 states in the US and internationally, compete in 18 different NHD academic competition categories. Approximately 3,000 students qualify for the NHD National Finals and less than 200 of those are selected as National Finalists or the top 0.04 percent.

For students at SAS, projects must be selected as one of the top two projects at the SAS Review in February, and then one of the top two in the NHD South Asia Affiliate Finals in March. Of our 14 projects that made it to the National Finals, five projects made it into the final round—an amazing result. These projects were selected as the top project within their preliminary round of 10 projects. In other words, these projects are one of the top 10 projects, in their category, throughout the world!

Congratulations to all of our SAS National Finalists and those who won special prizes!
