Didi Hari Krishnan

Message from PTA:
- PTA International Fair is coming up (February 29)
- Approximately 61 high school service clubs will be participating.

Listening Tour Recap by Superintendent Tom Boasberg:
- 58 listening tour sessions and 581 participants attended the sessions.
- Our top three strengths: Faculty, academics, and community and school climate
- Our three areas of growth: Academics, community and school climate, and communication and engagement

Areas of Strength
- Faculty: The quality of faculty, low turnover rate, high level of collaboration among faculty, and high quality of professional development made available.
- Academics: Diverse opportunities available for our students, stay at the forefront of best practices in education, personalize and individualize support for students.
- Community and school climate: diversity and inclusiveness of our school community, students volunteer, and relationships the students have with each other.

Areas for Growth
- Academics: need to work on alignment, core classes, and transition between divisions.
- Community and school climate: diversity, equity, and inclusion, social-emotional learning.
- Community and engagement: transparency especially during change implementation, open and balanced communication, and difficulty in navigating the platforms.

Looking Ahead:
1. Core Values
2. DSLOs/Learning Aspirations
3. Strategic Focus

All three of the aspects mentioned above will bring a sense of joy and purpose in learning.

Excellence—three aspects we will focus on:
1. How we invest in our educators.
2. Provide more coaching and feedback opportunities for our teachers.
3. Through coaching and PLC teamwork, ensure the quality, consistency, and alignment of academic expectations across subjects and grade levels.

Extraordinary Care:
1. Increase efforts in social-emotional learning through counseling and advisories, and address the stresses that our students feel.
2. Support diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the SAS community.
3. Strengthen our school culture based on our core values.

Possibilities:
1. Provide a wide range of curricular and extracurricular opportunities.
2. Explore how we can take advantage of the wealth of educational and cultural opportunities of Singapore.
3. Continue to develop innovative opportunities like Catalyst and Quest, Chinese Immersion, interdisciplinary studies, and TRi Time. Take time to review and explore areas for improvement.

Next Steps:
January-February: Report out on listening tour to educators, parents, and students and ask for their feedback on proposed strategic framework and priorities going forward.

March-April: Incorporate that feedback and prepare draft strategic plan for Board review and approval.

May: Share draft strategic plan with community and seek feedback.

August-September: Revise draft strategic plan. Share final strategic plan with Board for discussion and approval.
