A HAUNTED WORLD

A Haunted World

The mud splashed everywhere as Jack slammed the ground. Jack was covered in mud. He found his strength and got up. He got up and started walking again. He was covered in muck and slime. He was walking through a dark forest. His blue eyes glittered in the phosphorescent moonlight. The forest was very eerie at midnight. He was venturing into the unknown districts of the forests. He just tripped on a rock. Suddenly, thunderstruck. A nearby tree was struck by lightning caught fire, and rain just started pouring heavily. The rain poured so much, yet the fire on the tree was so strong. It could not be extinguished.

Jack kept searching. In his small town of Dwickburg, there was a famed myth about a haunted house in the unknown districts of the forests. Many people had gone missing searching for the house. Jack wanted to see if the legends were true, so he went in search of the house. He was drenched in the rain. His hair was curly. He was wearing a grey shirt, black pants, and black shoes.  He saw a black house nearby. It had cracked windows and had crows seated on the roof. Jack walked toward the house. He went up the staircase, that led to the door, he tried to pull the door open, but it was locked. He tried to open the door one more time, this time it opened. He walked through the dark hall. Abruptly, the floor beneath him cracked open and broke.

Jack fell down an endless hole. He slammed the ground with a thud. His whole body felt broken.

“What the heck?” Yelled Jack. Jack took a short glance at his body. His elbows were covered in blood, his knees were bruised, and his pants were torn. He felt a swelling pain in his nose.He touched it only to discover that it was bleeding. Jack continued strolling around the area. He saw a mirror nearby and was face to face with his doppelganger. Jack saw his broken body, but in the mirror, his lip curled, and his mouth was open, and his doppelganger had fangs instead of teeth. All of a sudden, the mirror shattered, and his doppelganger came out of the shattered mirror.

His doppelganger chased him around the area. Jack always kept a small penknife in his pocket. He took out the knife and attacked his doppelganger. He easily stabbed his doppelganger, as his doppelganger was weaponless. The doppelganger felt no pain.

“Jack, I am your mirror image. I deserve to live in the real world, while you deserve to be trapped in the mirror!”

Jack stabbed again, but the blow had no effect on his doppelganger. He suddenly ran as fast as his legs could carry him. He saw a stairway nearby, he climbed the stairway and saw a door that had cobwebs. He opened the door. Jack was amazed by what he saw behind the door. He saw a room full of gold, and a large fire at the center of the room. He ran near the fire, but his doppelganger followed him. The doppelganger ran to Jack and punched him. Jack fell down. He was badly hurt by his doppelganger’s punch. His doppelganger advanced on him and proceeded to beat him up. Jack kept getting beaten by his doppelganger. The doppelganger picked up Jack easily and threw him down on the floor.

“Yeow!” Jack screamed. All of a sudden, Jack got a brainwave. He jumped up ran towards the fire. His evil doppelganger followed. The doppelganger ran towards Jack, but before the doppelganger could touch Jack, Jack swiftly sidestepped and tripped his doppelganger. The doppelganger fell into the fire. Jack breathed with relief. His doppelganger started burning. Jack silently got down on his haunches. A relieved Jack walked into the room, lost in thought. Is this place actually a supernatural area.Thought Jack. In the golden room, Jack noticed a golden door. He advanced toward the door. When he opened the door, He saw prison cells. A horde of people was put into prison cells. Inside the cell, each prisoner looked weary and had a lot of wounds. What the heck? Thought Jack.

Inside one of the cells, he saw a man with blue eyes and curly hair. The man was from his village. The man’s name was Stamford. Jack ran to Stamford.

“Stamford, get up.” Pleaded Jack. Stamford took a glance at Jack.
“ Jack, what on my mother’s wine are you doing here?” Questioned Stamford.
“ I came here to find out why people constantly keep vanishing.” Replied Jack.

“ When people come here, they face illusions, and if they are too weak to get past the illusions, they get dragged into these cells by the illusions. Then the illusions drag you into a room, and in that room, something feeds on our soul.” Said Stamford. He pointed to a black door. He looked stressed out and had a bloody forehead.

“Stamford, I am going to get you out of here.” Declared Jack, swiftly, while he pushed open the door to Stamford’s cell. Stamford slowly got up. The two of them walked around the area. He saw the black door. It looked extremely creepy. It was covered in cobwebs. Jack felt his pocket knife. It was safely in his pocket. He was going to go destroy the soul feeder. He walked with Stamford towards the door. Quickly opened it. Stamford and Jack entered the room. The room was pitch black. Jack closed the door and walked in the darkness.

“Aaahhh!” Screamed Stamford.
“Stamford, where are you?” Asked Jack, in an extremely loud voice. Jack heard no reply. Stamford had just vanished.

Suddenly, he felt a hard tap on his shoulder.

“Stamford, stop playing tricks on me.” Said Jack. Jack looked behind and saw something terrible. He saw hell.
