Library Orientation
Library Orientation sessions were provided to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students during the months of August and September. Students were entertained with the short video where “Reality Ron” talked about library resources with his alter ego “Cyber Ron” who exists in cyberspace. Students are still wondering how Reality Ron was able to jump into cyberspace before their very eyes. Following the video, the students went on a scavenger hunt locating books, magazines, music and online databases.
Welcome to the Ministry of Sound
Inside “The Jungle” our library staff has now placed all of our audio collection, including 100 new Play Away audio books. Play Away devices look like tiny books with a jacket cover. Each Play Away contains one audio book with ear phones. We still have our collection of books on CD as well as over 500 music CD’s which all of which can be borrowed.
Aesthetic Sound Barrier
Over the summer, we added an artistic dividing wall to display student art and to create a sound barrier from one side of the library to the other. We now have a Collaborative side of the library where students and staff can work together and talk at a slightly noisier level as well as a Quiet side of the library where we maintain a very quiet environment for students to study and do homework.
