Library Photo Gallery

In the Middle School Library we serve the 6th, 7th and 8th grade community and welcome visitors from all divisions at SAS. We offer an engaging information literacy program that is a collaborative effort with teachers designed to address lifelong research skills. Our library collection is built through consultation with teachers and students. The resources are selected to provide the widest possible range of literary, artistic and intellectual expression across all formats, from print to electronic. Middle School is a time of discovery and exploration; our goal is to inspire creative innovation and excitement about learning as well as a love for reading and literature.

Loan Policy: Patrons may borrow up to 10 items at a time for a 3 week loan period.  Overnight loans are allowed for Reference materials.

Library Cards:  The SAS student ID card also serves as the library card.

Lost materials: Patrons will be fined the price of the item for materials that are lost.

SAS Textbooks:  The SAS Textbook collection in the library is intended for use only within the library.  If a textbook is loaned, it will be treated the same as a reference book.

Photocopier:  Students will need to purchase a copier card to use the library photocopier. Copies cost 10 cents per page. The cost of the copy card is $3.00 and may be topped up any time.

Audiobook Collection - For those who like the option of listening to a story, this collection provides a wide range of digital recordings.

The Tigers Lair:  This is our presentation room and also serves as the home base for 6th graders. When it is not booked it is available for use by any patrons for quiet reading or conversation.
The Jungle: This room is a quiet study room that is also used for book displays. It has been decorated to look like a jungle by our Middle School art students.
The Geography Room:  This room houses our geography collection and also serves as a games room.
The Community Library: Housed in its own space in the Middle School library, parents are welcome to use this room for small group meetings or for a quiet place to read when on campus. It is a convenient point of access for the community with regard to current information on child development and family life.
